Genius Hour Update

This week, Devan and I practiced making samples for the class when its time for us to present. We used paper to split each mold into two but the soap base ended up sinking the piece of paper. Next time we are going to make the soap and then cut it.

This is what it looked like when I made the DIY seperator.

These are pictures of the process. The first one was when it came out of the microwave and we noticed that it looked really oily and was not sure why. The middle image is moments before the paper folded underneath all the soap. We might even try using cardboard next time. The last picture shows what the bowl looked like afterward. We put oats in the soap and realized that when it was heated up the oats stuck to the bottom of the bowl instead of mixing in with the soap. They also appeared much smaller.

This is what the soap looked like after it cured. Like before, it still remained extremely oily. But it gave it a really cool texture and loook.
